Graphology has been practiced for centuries, and in today’s world we deem Graphology as one of the reliable ways of determining and understanding someone’s personality. So, it can be termed as an art and science of interpreting handwriting and assessing someone’s psychological traits.
To put it in lay man’s language, Graphology is handwriting analysis wherein we assess the person’s handwriting and help them understand their personality, strengths, weaknesses and your current psychological state of mind.
A lot of people over the years have asked me if I can determine the future or if it is like astrology. To put these rumors to rest, I would like to point out that Graphology and Astrology are two different forms of sciences with no correlation to each other. We may not be able to predict the future, but we can surely make your present better and fruitful so that you can have a successful future. We work on the shortcomings of the present to make our future better.
There are a lot of factors that are accounted for while evaluating someone’s handwriting. Few of the key components are size, style, slants and pressure of the handwriting sample. For example, it is believed that anyone who has large handwriting would usually be an extrovert and also someone who likes to stand out from the crowd. Whereas, people with small handwriting can be shy, but also precise and pay more attention to details.
Likewise, a slant determines whether the person is optimistic, pessimistic or more focused on reality. A lot of this can be seen as common sense. When we understand more, we see that many of the factors can be perceived as more of common sense and little more observation.
I can list down a few examples of how you analyse the handwriting in the simplest way possible.
- Slant determines the level of openness of a person to himself or others.
- Crosses of alphabets can help you understand if the person is practical and how determined a person is about their ambition and how well he can handle problems.
- Handwriting Pressure determines a person’s emotional state and even purpose.
- Size of the letters determine the confidence of the person writing the sample.
These are a few ways in which we can determine one’s personality. So why don’t you check your own or your friend’s handwriting sample and understand whether your handwriting is large, small, or the pressure of your handwriting is more or less.
There is a lot more to Graphology than just slants and pressure. There are different zones in Graphology that forms the basis of analysis.

There are 3 zones and like it is mentioned in the picture, all three zones represent something different. The lower zone is for physical activities/ practical imagination. The Middle zone is for daily activities and the upper zone is for imagination and logic.
Likewise there are a lot of things that make Graphology reasonable, logical and practical to use. It helps in understanding the psychological traits in one’s personality.
